The brief was to oversee a complete renovation of this tired-looking 2-bedroom apartment in a charming block of four in Manly, that our client had lived in for the past 10-plus years.
We wanted to create a contemporary yet homely feel, by increasing the natural light and space with an open plan living design.
To achieve this, we knocked out a couple of key structural walls that required CDC approval prior (private certification) via a certifier and Northern Beaches Council. RICC worked alongside key partners to oversee the whole process. This included drawing up the renovation plans, council paperwork and submission process.
Our client loved royal blue, and so the foundation colour within the final palette was decided in the early stages of the interior design process. We wanted to keep relatively consistent materials and colour palettes throughout the apartment to maintain the flow and cohesive aesthetic.
Being a veterinary nurse, the homeowner has a love of animals, and so shares her home with two cats plus frequent visits from other four-legged friends. The bathroom design was complete with a spot for the kitty litter underneath the custom designed vanity.
The bathroom was a particular favourite of the onsite team, with the enclosed spacious wet room at the end of the long bathroom that housed the freestanding bath, twin-head shower, feature niche and a picturesque view from the sash window.
